Difference.
What does it mean to us?
We believe difference to be a hindrance,
Be it language, religion, or the color of our skin,
Culture, custom, tradition within.
They say we should learn to like the same things
To believe the same, or not at all
To be able to live as one on this spinning blue ball.
I say no, for to me, difference is color:
Would a rainbow be as beautiful in shades of grey,
Or flowers as lovely, if the colors drained away?
So for me, difference is the only thing
Making life truly worth living.

I honestly don't remember whether or not I submitted this to that school publication like the other ones. I wrote this on a whim in study hall in my junior year of high school in...15 minutes. I'm submitting this because I kind of feel guilty not having submitted anything in so long because I can't find the time to work on the fourth installment of Love Story (need to find a better title for that
